Oh Christmas tree?
Last night, while Ryan and I were out for a walk, we passed a house with a Christmas tree in the window. Yes, you read right: A Christmas tree, up already. Although my friend Natalie would disagree, I say it's too early! Why can't people wait until December? Doesn't this take away the magic of Christmas? I would think that by having Christmas decorations up for 6 to 8 weeks leading up to the Holiday, you would be tired of it by the time Christmas actually comes. I know that I can only take so much hype. Maybe I am a Grinch, but I say it's too early!

I have mixed feelings about Christmas deco. I want it up to get it out of the way, and it is one of the best things to celebrate (Christ's birthday) but I it is a long time to have the tree up and fight the kids off of it. We usually do it the FHE after Thanksgiving, which is still in November, so I am one to say anything. I will admit I have however started my Christmas baking and started to freeze it
I will have to respectfully disagree with you Michelle. I think mid-November is just fine for breaking out the Christmas stuff. The novelty of it never wears off for me.
Our tradition was always the first Monday in December the tree went up. It just makes sense to me. But in the same breath, I don't think I would get sick of the decor ever! "I Cry The Day That I Take The Tree Down"
Christmas trees, listening to carols, city decorations, etc. should wait at least until a month before Christmas, in my opinion. So any time after November 25th is fine.
It's all about where you focus your attention during the season. Does the tree remind you that you still haven't started your christmas shopping or sent out all those silly cards (notice you never get a christmas card from me? it doesn't mean I don't love you, nobody gets cards from me). Or does it remind you that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ? I love putting out my nativity sets and listening to songs of Christ and remembering the true meaning of christmas. That's why I don't think it's too early for the tree or decorations and music (I occassionally listen to christmas music in the summer). But that's just my humble opinion! :-)
Bah Humbug. I say nothing till Dec 1st. All you're doing is encouraging walmart etc. to start pushing commercialism on us earlier and earlier every year ;)
